ABOUT US

Solas:Solas was created to give couples a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect — without pressure, performance, or pretense.Curated by Jitesh Patel, a certified Gottman Leader and longtime partner himself, our retreats and sessions are grounded in research-backed practices, especially The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. These principles offer clear, practical ways to strengthen connection, build trust, and navigate the everyday challenges of partnership. But we don’t stop at relationship tools. The learning is complemented by holistic and playful experiences — moments shared in nature, creativity, and movement — designed to bring joy, ease, and a deeper sense of togetherness.
OUR APPROACH
We believe connection is something you return to through presence, curiosity, and simple everyday choices — the way you listen, respond, and make space for each other. Our sessions are shaped by the Gottman Institute's 7 Principles of making marriage work, blended with creative, physical, and sensory experiences that help couples reconnect in a way that feels both natural and lasting. Each escape is guided by the same principles: presence, curiosity, creativity, and care. We blend research-backed relationship tools with holistic practices, movement, stillness, and meaningful conversation. Nothing is one-size-fits-all—everything is shaped around where you are and where you want to go, together. Our spaces are private, personalised, and deeply intentional. From breathwork and couples’ massage to visioning exercises and sound healing, each moment is designed to help you reconnect—not just through words, but through energy, joy, and shared experience. This is relationship work—but it’s also relationship celebration
FAQ

Who is this retreat for?*
Couples who want first date feeling. You want to reconnect, reflect, or simply spend meaningful time together — whether you’re navigating a transition, feeling a little distant, or just craving space to enjoy each other again.Do we need to be having problems to attend?
Not at all. This is not counselling, nor therapy. Many couples come simply to deepen their connection or invest in their relationship with intention. It’s intentional time set aside for each other, supported by thoughtful guidance and shared experiences. What’s included in the escape?
Everything: transfers, food and beverages (non-alcoholic), guided sessions, curated experiences, and space to simply rest and be. Once you arrive, it’s all taken care of.How is this different from couples therapy?
We don’t diagnose or delve into past trauma. Instead, we offer research-backed tools (especially from the Gottman Institute), shared practices, and gentle reflection — all focused on the here and now of your relationship. How structured is the experience?
It’s softly guided — a balance of structured sessions and unstructured time to relax or explore together. You won’t be rushed or put on a schedule. The pace is yours. What if my partner is hesitant?
We want you both on-board. We keep things grounded, personal, and pressure-free. Many hesitant partners end up appreciating how natural and enjoyable the escape feels.Where does the retreat take place?
Each Escape is hosted in a beautiful, private setting in Bali — either in the jungle, by the river, or near the sea. Exact locations vary and are shared upon booking. How many couples are there at one time?
For private retreats, it’s just you two. For group retreats, we welcome no more than five couples — to keep the space intimate and personal. Is this suitable for same-sex couples?

Comfortable clothes, an open mind, and a willingness to be present. We’ll take care of the rest. How do we book?Spaces are limited. Use the link yo book your spot. Once an Escape is full, new dates will be released. To reserve your place or ask a question, just reach out via WhatsApp or email.
THE THREE QUICKIES
Three bite-sized but powerful experiences to help you understand yourself—and each other—a little better. Do one, do them all. Each one gives you something to take home and try.

Quicky 1 : Lovers & Fighters
We all have our own way of loving—and clashing. In this session, you'll each discover your primary love language and your go-to conflict style. You’ll see what lights you up, what shuts you down, and how the two of you tend to react under pressure. The aim? To better understand how you give and receive love, and how to stop the same argument from looping again and again.

Quicky 2: The Reset
Ask yourself what you really want—your desires, your goals, the things you haven’t said out loud yet. Then, through guided prompts, you’ll share, align, and create one shared board that reflects what truly matters to you both. It’s a pause-and-reset moment, especially if life’s felt a bit like a blur lately. More than anything, it gives you a shared roadmap—a visual reminder of where you’re heading, together.

Quicky 3: 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work
Drawn from decades of research by the Gottman Institute, this session explores what successful long-term couples actually do differently. We’ll walk through core principles like building friendship, managing conflict, and creating shared meaning. You’ll leave with practical tools to use immediately—at home, in conversation, or even mid-argument. Less theory, more “why didn’t anyone teach us this sooner?”
